“ A simple straight forward bar with good beer. For Manhattan the prices are alright. The beer collection is unique and well curated. I liked their on tap stout, however the cider was too dry for me. The ambience is good with high chairs and tables. Sometimes they have the music off and I guess when there are too many people they turn it up. ”
“ There appears to be a nice assortment of beers from NY state available at the taproom especially local microbreweries. The Hoptimist also fills up growlers while offering cans to go. If one feels like getting a nice cold beer after a day at the American Museum of Natural History or strolling through the Upper West Side this is a good place to go. ”
“ This place is delightful! Great beers on tap, even better service from the lady serving. Even a happy hour on food! Burger and a pint for 15 bucks?! Go on then. Give this place a try. Like now! ”
“ Proud to call this our “cheers” bar - a true neighborhood bar of the UWS! Good low-key energy, dog-friendly and always a welcoming crowd with the best bartenders. They genuinely care about making it a fun and friendly place for everyone! Their menu from Caledonia next door is a perk too; the mozz sticks (IYKYK) & chicken fingers are on another level. Jazz nights the first Monday of the month are also great. We love Hop! ”
“ This is the perfect spot to get a pulse on the NYC beer scene. Great draft list, tons of cans that you can buy for here or to go. Love it ”
“ Very cozy spot, great beer selection, very warming and helpful staff, super dog friendly. Highly recommend. ”
“ This place is an extension of many Upper West Siders' homes. All the bartenders know their beers, ciders, and regulars well, and they welcome newcomers just the same. The food is solid and comes out quickly from the kitchen next door. It's a small, cozy little bar and their selection of New York beers and ciders both on tap and in the fridges is unbeatable. Bonus: it's dog-friendly, so the pooch can come hang out while you have your pint! Can't recommend this place enough to anyone looking for a local bar that really feels local. ”
“ Really nice dog-friendly bar with cool choice of draft beer, great music and welcoming vibe ”
